How close are the beaches to Casa del Quetzal?
The closest beach is a 5-minute drive from our luxury villa. But really, the choice is yours when it comes to the beaches along Banderas Bay. Each has its charms – from quaint and secluded to fun and adventurous. In Mexico, all beaches are considered public property and offer 24-hour access.
How do the meals work?
Once your reservations have been made, we work with you to customize a menu based on your dietary needs (please advise us of any food allergies). During your stay, our personal chef will serve two meals a day made with fresh, locally grown ingredients from the land and sea. Please note that the full-time staff is off on Sundays.
How is the water in Casa del Quetzal?
We offer only purified water and ice. While the tap water in Puerto Vallarta is considered to be the best in Mexico, most restaurants, bars and resorts also use purified water and ice for their patrons. If in doubt, bottled water can be purchased from every neighborhood tienda. As an added precaution, we wash our fruits and vegetables in a Microdyn/water mix.
Do you have Internet?
Yes, we have free access to WiFi in the villa. Please note that we do not supply mobile devices or computers.
Do I need to bring special power adapters?
No, Mexico uses the same 110 volt – 60 Hz current as the US and Canada. At Casa del Quetzal, we provide three-prong outlets for your convenience.
What should I bring to Casa del Quetzal?
Your what-to-bring list will depend on your vacation style. If you plan to remain beach or poolside, a bathing suit is all you’ll need. If you’d like to venture out, casual wear is suggested. Puerto Vallarta is rather casual, so even if you plan to dine out or go to the theatre, resort wear will suffice.
Other necessities may include:
Shampoo, conditioner, hand soap and hair dryers are provided, but you should bring items like:
- Your prescription medications
- Toiletries – lotion and hair products
- Sunscreen & insect repellent
- Hat & Sunglasses
- Sandals for the beach
- Comfortable walking shoes or sneakers for ecotourism adventures
- Camera/camcorder
If you forget anything, Puerto Vallarta has everything you could want to purchase.
